End-to-end encrypted
Messages are encrypted on your phone with AES-256-GCM and decrypted only on your devices. The relay passes along ciphertext it cannot read.
Resano sends the texts and verification codes your Android phone receives to your computer, fills codes in your browser, and lets you answer from the keyboard you are already using. Your phone sends the reply. Nobody in between can read any of it.
Android · macOS · Windows · Linux · Chrome · Firefox
Resano listens for incoming SMS in the background, even when the app is closed. Choose all messages, codes only, or just the senders you pick.
Open Resano on your computer and scan its QR code with your phone. Both screens show the same number, and you approve it on the desktop.
New messages appear on your desktop within seconds. The browser extension offers a code under the field and fills it when you press Enter. To answer a message, type the reply on your computer and your phone sends it.

Your devices share a vault instead of a login. Twelve words, shown once, let you add or recover a device. No email, no password, no phone number.
The extension finds the code field, offers the newest code and fills it, single box or split boxes. It never submits a form for you. Each browser profile chooses which of your phones may offer it codes.
Link a Mac at work and a Linux box at home to the same phone, or two phones to one vault. Each device gets its own permissions, and you can remove any device from any other. Conversations are grouped per phone and SIM.
Persian and Arabic digits are normalised, and amounts or card numbers are never mistaken for codes. When it isn’t sure, it asks.
Desktop notifications show only how many messages arrived, never who sent them or what they say. Old messages can delete themselves.
Type a reply on your computer and your phone sends it as a normal text, from the SIM the message arrived on. You see it as sent and delivered. Replies go to numbers that texted you, up to 60 an hour, and stay off for a new device until you allow them. Optional Instant replies keep the phone listening so a reply goes out in seconds; without it, up to about 15 minutes.
Turn on Contacts on your phone to see names and photos instead of numbers, and to search your phone’s contacts from your computer when you start a conversation. They are looked up on your phone and travel encrypted between your devices. Your address book is never uploaded or kept on our server.
Keyboard shortcuts and menus for everything: new message, search, jump to a conversation, reply, lock. Starting a conversation with a new number is a separate switch, off by default, with a limit of 20 new numbers a day.
To reach your desktop when you are not on the same network, Resano passes messages through a relay at api.resano.app. It only ever holds encrypted envelopes, keeps them briefly, and forgets them once your devices confirm delivery.
Resano is still in development. An independent security review is planned before the first public release.
Android may say it hasn’t seen this developer before. That is normal for a new app: tap “Install anyway”.

iPhone can’t share incoming SMS with other apps, so Resano needs an Android phone to receive codes.
Only your own devices can. Messages are encrypted on the phone before they leave it, and the relay never has the keys.
No. Your devices form a vault protected by twelve words. Keep them somewhere safe: they are the only way to recover the vault if you lose every device.
Not for receiving codes. iOS doesn’t let apps read incoming SMS. The desktop app and extension work with an Android phone.
No. Resano fills the code and stops. You stay the one who presses the button.
You choose on the phone: every SMS, only messages with a code, or only the senders you pick. Filtered messages never leave the phone.
Yes. You type the reply on your computer and your phone sends it as a normal text message, so your carrier’s usual SMS charges apply. Replies go to people who have texted that phone, up to 60 an hour. A new device can’t reply until you allow it, and with Resano closed on the phone a reply can take up to about 15 minutes, or seconds with Instant replies switched on.
Only if you switch on Start conversations on your phone and allow it for that device. It is off by default, one recipient at a time, and limited to 20 new numbers a day. Resano never sends in bulk.
No. With Contacts switched on, your phone looks up the names and photos of the people you text and shares them with your own devices, encrypted. It is off by default. Your address book is never uploaded, and the relay only passes along encrypted envelopes.
No. Resano is not your phone’s default messaging app, so replies are not written into it. They appear in Resano’s own conversation on every one of your devices.
Resano is free while it is in beta. Pricing after that hasn’t been decided.
